Dr. Daniel Y.N. Tan is a Singapore-based scholar-practitioner and business educator serving as Global Professor of Practice at Golden Gate University and Adjunct Professor at European City University Paris, where he contributes to doctoral supervision and higher education.
His academic work is informed by more than three decades of professional experience spanning financial services, entrepreneurship, corporate training and business education. His research interests centre on human judgement, decision-making, technology adoption, artificial intelligence, leadership, consumer behaviour and trust in digital ecosystems.
His approach to scholarship is deliberately applied: connecting research and theory with the complex decisions faced by individuals, organisations and professionals.

My doctoral research examined how Generation X Singaporeans perceive and adopt the Singapore Financial Data Exchange (SGFinDex), a national digital infrastructure designed to improve financial planning through secure data sharing.
The study explored how trust, usability, technological readiness, and human judgement influence financial technology adoption. Conducted using qualitative research methods, the project contributes to a growing body of knowledge on digital financial ecosystems and highlights the continuing importance of human interpretation alongside technological innovation.
Beyond its academic contribution, the research reflects my long-standing interest in translating evidence into practical strategies that improve financial decision-making for individuals, advisers, organisations, and policymakers.
